STUFFED SAUSAGE & PEPPERS
I have always been a fan of sausage, kielbasa, chorizo, and of course, bratwurst. So when someone shared a brief video of someone stuffing Italian sausage with mozzarella cheese, I was intrigued.
In this episode, we are making a variant of the recipe I saw in that video: STUFFED SAUSAGE & PEPPERS
The recipe is simple and very much hands on. However, when it is all said and done, the STUFFED SAUSAGE & PEPPERS becomes a great, ooey, gooey main dish.
Without delay, let’s get on with it.
STUFFED SAUSAGE & PEPPERS
= = = = = INGREDIENTS = = = = =
1 package of Italian Sausage (mild)
1 package of Mozzarella Cheese Sticks
1 jar of Pasta Sauce (prefer homemade)
Red & Green Bell Peppers, sliced (amount varies to how much you want)
Onion, sliced (amount varies to how much you want)
salt & pepper to taste
= = = = = DIRECTIONS = = = = =
- Preheat Oven to 400 degrees F
- Sautée peppers & onions
- Split open sausage, remove casing, insert cheese stick, ensure sausage encases the cheese
- Lay a thin layer of sauce in 9×13 or smaller baking pan
- add sausage on top of thin layer of sauce
- add sauteed peppers & onions on top of sausage
- pour remaining sauce on top of sausage & peppers
- bake for 45 minutes
- Serve as is or over a bed of rice
- Devour!
