RED CABBAGE

Today, we are making DOROTHY HAWKINS’ contribution:RED CABBAGE
The recipe is simple and flavorful. The RED CABBAGE can stand on its own or as a tasty side dish with just about anything (including Bratwurst and Schnitzel). Follow these easy directions and about 1 hour and 15 minutes later, talk about delicious.

6 Cups Red Cabbage (shredded)
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons onion (chopped fine)
1 apple (chopped)
5 cloves
1 Cup water
3 Tablespoons chopped bacon
1/4 Cup vinegar
4 Tablespoons sugar
= = = = = DIRECTIONS = = = = =
- Cook Cabbage, Salt, Onion, Apples, Cloves, in Water for 1 hour
- Fry Bacon until crisp
- Add Vinegar and Sugar to Bacon & Simmer for 10 minutes
- Pour over cooked cabbage, mix well
